Dr. Susan Feingold, PsyD, PMH-C has close to three decades of experience in her clinical practice which concentrates on pregnancy and postpartum mental health issues. As a postpartum depression survivor herself at a time in which no one gave the matter serious attention, she decided to devote her career to helping other moms get the specialized treatment that they need to recover. In the last five years, Dr. Feingold has become a fierce advocate for women with postpartum psychosis and depression, including those whose illness leads to tragedy and involvement with the criminal justice system. Feingold, along with the moderator Lewis, shepherded the first in the nation postpartum criminal law through the Illinois legislature; this account is described in their book, Advocating for Women with Postpartum Mental Illness: A Guide to Changing the Law and the National Climate. They continue to work to get other states in the U.S. to adopt comprehensive postpartum laws for women with postpartum psychosis
